The film begins in Las Arenas where a couple, Josh and Sofía, arrive in Bogotá, Colombia. They're both doctors here for a conference. There they meet Marcos, a friend of Josh's. They talk for a while and he shows them his room.However, they are not happy with the room and we learn that their marriage is on the verge of collapse.

They are sad because there is only one bed and they have been sleeping alone for a while. In the evening Marcos and Josh decide to go for a walk the next morning, but for some reason Marcos cannot accompany them. However, Sofia wants to go on a hike and Josh goes with her. The hotel manager warns her to be careful and not to go to Las Arenas as this area is dangerous.He motions to a man sitting there, hinting that they may encounter thieves out to get tourists.

As they walk, the thunder starts and they decide to turn back, but they see the man from the hotel trying to break the glass of their car to steal something. Josh starts fighting him and they flee into the woods for safety, but Sofia falls into a mud puddle that turns out to be quicksand.


Josh tries to get her out but ends up in the quicksand as well. Josh's idea is to keep calm because he believes no one has ever died in quicksand.However, below you see a dead body and a bag with a knife, a flashlight and a rifle. Now Josh plans to make a rope and throw it on the rock that can support Sofia's weight to help her.

But his plan doesn't work out because the rope isn't long enough to reach the rock. Then they see a helicopter, but cannot spot it. His problems worsen when ants start climbing up Sofia's neck, and he also fears they will die of dehydration since the bottles in his backpack have been stolen.However, Josh carried a bottle of alcohol with him and used it to wash his neck. But she's mad at him for not telling her about it and that they could have drunk the alcohol to stay hydrated.


The end:-
Next they see a snake coming toward them. Josh tells Sofia to shoot the snake, but the snake manages to bite Josh and the venom begins to spread throughout his body. Sofia says they have six hours before the poison can damage their organs. Meanwhile, Marcos manages to find out where his friends are by exchanging a watch with the thief. He tells the police that he is a doctor, that his friends are in danger and that he must save them.She asks Josh to hold her hand but he can't move so she tells him to go and save himself. She leaves, but passes out along the way. Luckily Marcos comes with an ambulance, they manage to save Josh and the movie ends.
